Easy

 Tee : Made by me // Jeans and necklace : LOFT Outlet // Sweater : Target // Scarf : A'gaci // Boots : Steve Madden // Belt : GAP

My favorite outfits are the simple, unpretentious ones. I had a phase when I tried to slam together tops and bottoms and shoes that were going in opposite directions, stylistically speaking. You can find some visual evidence in earlier posts of my blog... Things work out so much better for me when I just go with the flow and not force any of my clothes to be something they're not. Take this outfit for example. All these pieces are basic shapes, unembellished. The boots are even scuffed and the jeans naturally faded from wear (which I really like, by the way. This is the first time I've had a pair of raw denim jeans that has aged so well). Taken alone or together they harmoniously say "casual, laid-back, earthy."

One more thing: Moss green and black make an amazing duo.

30x30 Remix Challenge : Day 5 & Day 6

Here's a flashback to what I wore Thursday and Friday of last week.

Day 5:

What I'm Wearing:
8) Green pinstripe shirt- Walmart
20) Boyfriend jeans- LOFT Outlet
25) Light blue cardigan- LOFT Outlet
28) Yellow ballet flats- LOFT Outlet
Vintage pearl necklace and butterfly necklace made by me (You can see them better below)

Day 6:

What I'm Wearing
2) White tee- Marshall's
20) Boyfriend jeans- LOFT Outlet
25) Light blue cardigan- LOFT Outlet
28) Yellow ballet flats- LOFT Outlet
Vintage pearl necklace, LOFT Outlet bracelet and butterfly necklace made by me

Yep, the outfits are nearly identical. But Thursday a front blew through with some cooler than expected weather. I spent most of the day at home in my warm pajamas and then my workout/housecleaning clothes, and I only had to go to work in the evening to process a shipment, so it didn't matter too much what I wore. Since I wore them for less than half a day, it only seemed right to wear them again the following day.

Printed Lace and Boyfriends

Not talkin' about the male human type, the cuffed jeans and comfy sweater type!

And this jacket is actually a sweater with a notched collar and style lines. It almost looks like a blazer, but it's more flattering without being fitted and much easier to move around in. The lacey look and the hoop earrings add a touch of femininity.

I was wondering, do boyfriend jeans have an equivalent skirt? A boyfriend skirt- that just sounds weird, but you know what I mean. What sort of skirt can work in any sort of situation that a ultra-relaxed, worn-in, cuffed-at-just-the-right-length pair of  jeans does? If you were going to wear a skirt, what would you pair with this top and sweater?

And I'm so excited for this:

Ashley at Bramblewood Fashion is hosting a week-long fashion event based on a different era or genre every day. I've never seen most of the movies and shows she'll be referencing, but she says she hasn't seen all of them either; we can still look at the images and get inspiration from the fabulous TV and movie set wardrobes. Who else wants to join? It's gonna be fun!
